Things were looking much better on this attempt on my X58 legacy bios board until the installer got to the 3rd (I think) restart at which point the clover options had changed, offering first....
boot FileVault prebooter from preboot.
boot macos install prebooter from preboot.
boot macOS from Chew Z (my drive)

although I have verbose options both within config and showing and as boot option I only get a black screen, followed initially if I hit return by BOOT0af error.

I have since run rehabman's clover fork adding the option to install to mbr (a guess) and now instead of BOOT0af I get an unusual grey screen, none of the options being actionable.

this feels very close to working..........

iv'e rerun multibeast 10.4.0 and still after clover it goes to black screen with no verbose output,
I have whatevergreen and lilu for now in clover/kexts/other..

I finally worked out it was the Marvell 9128 chip, which once Mojave installer got to third reboot would no longer recognise the drive.....
Using the boards native channels and im finally in Mojave.......
