Just like last year with Big Sur, booting the new macOS version leads to troubles with the ACPI initialization. This time there's no kernel panic, the screen just freeze right after loading the ACPI tables. No errors, no kps, it just stops there, requiring an hard reset. Have anyone tried booting Monterey on a X79 machine?

Have you tried following this guide? > https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-sandy-bridge-e-big-sur-with-opencore.310345/

You'll also need an updated SSDT-UNC.aml for your X79.

If you can manage to boot into Big Sur fully then Monterey should not be a major problem. Just have to disable Secureboot.
I thought this too, Big Sur works, Monterey works too. I don’t know what I should update on ssdt-unc since the bios is the same from 2014. Secureboot is already disabled
