Hi Guys;

I am trying to install High Sierra on my laptop. Unfortunately; when I boot from the USB I get some backtrace scrolling fast and then I get to lines about system restart / mach reboot. Then nothing happens.

I have browsed through another similar thread and tried to go through the config.list..no avail..

Any hint to get me in the right direction appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

Although you should read the FAQ for an overview of issues, the Clover guide is linked from the first question: "Q. Where do I start?", just after the bold face "Clover Guide".
Here is a direct link, just to be clear:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Also, your profile must be filled out with complete details as requested in the FAQ, again under "Q. Where do I start?". All seven details requested are equally important.

And if you have an issue (after following the guide), or on any other problem, you must provide a detailed description of the problem including information that helps us understand what you're doing. Always attach "Problem Reporting" files as per FAQ.

The required files and data are fully detailed in the last question in the FAQ:
"Q. What are typical "Problem Reporting" files?"

Hi Guys;

I hope that I got my profile right this time. :)

I have been reading all the faqs and guides in order to get the installer boot on my laptop. At the end; I managed to get it boot but I then get a system restart on a different level.

Please see attached shots. (I have got more shots of the boot process, in case it helps)

One question before I get anyone lost with me; My main disk is an M.2 NVME with Windows on it. The EFI System Partition is on that disk too. However; I am planning to install High Sierra on the Sata Disk. Now the question is: Does the MSR partition cause the problem I am having? As far as I read; installing MacOS on a different disk should have no problem.

Thank you in advance.

"Problem Reporting" files are incomplete.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

The MSR partition would prevent you from creating mac partitions on the SSD.

IMG_4848.JPG IMG_4850.JPG IMG_4848.JPG IMG_4850.JPG First of all thank you for your help.

Now I followed all the instructions on the link. But before anything; I would like to mention that I desperately overwrote High Sierra with Mojave. The same Clover configuration is maintained. I have successfully installed Mojave and I am posting using it.. :)

Now I have a quite strange behaviour, though; I copied the /EFI/CLOVER folder onto my NVME ESP /EFI/CLOVER

1. If I boot from NVME, The boot process hangs towards the end (shots attached)
2. If I boot from USB I can log in normally and use my Mojave. But I still tried to configure sound and few other stuff to no avail. I hope you can help me out with that.

I am still reading about different solutions on this forum hoping to solve it soon.

I am attaching the CLOVER of the USB as well as the one from the local NVME.

Thanks again.

Your kextcache shows mismatched Lilu kexts:
Code:
IntelGraphicsFixup.kext - no compatible dependency found for as.vit9696.Lilu.
IntelGraphicsFixup.kext is missing dependencies (including anyway; dependencies may be available from elsewhere)

IntelGraphicsFixup.kext is deprecated, replaced by WhateverGreen.kext.

Install latest Lilu.kext + latest WhateverGreen.kext.

Your EFI/Clover/kexts/Other is a mess. Place only "essential" kexts there.

For your system, essential kexts would be:
FakeSMC.kext
Lilu.kext
WhateverGreen.kext
RealtekRTL8111.kext
SATA-100-series-unsupported.kext
VoodooPS2Controller.kext

Thank you very much for your precious help. I modified every thing and now I can boot my Mojave directly from System EFI Boot Manager.

FWIW; in someone else is interested:

1. If the laptop goes to sleep, it hangs if I try to use it again. I must force a shutdown then boot again.
2. Touchpad and WIFI still do not work.
3. Haven't tried envidia yet..now I will try.
4. If I boot into Windows and then reboot MacOS it seems that something strange happens..it does not boot. The solution is just to enter BIOS browse the Boot Entries (Do not need to change anything!), then simply save changes and choose MacOS from BIOS Boot Menu.
5. Since in Clover boot arguments dart=0 is there, I did not need to disable VT-D in the BIOS.
6. Graphics in the BIOS should and MUST be 64, otherwise the MacOS would not boot.
7. Mic does not work; cannot record voice with QuickTime Player.
8. The Mail application crashes; not usable.

Thank you again and happy hackintoshing.

BTW; how can I mark the topic as solved? Sorry..
