Okay so I am about 3 days into Hacking.... So its all pretty fairly new... That being said I have built two systems this weekend. One I was able to quickly get up and running easily - once I figured out some things.

Now, the more important system is the one I am currently hacking away at. Its an ASUS Z170-A Pro Gaming MOBO with an I7-6700, 16GM Memory, 2 500GB SSD... I have OSX installed. I have it booting without USB into OS.

No sound devices show up whatsoever for speakers. I have attempted everything from FixHDA, to Clover-Apple1150.pgk install. Neither of those have worked in getting me any kind of Sound/Speakers to show.

Secondly and VERY frustrating, is it won't power down or sleep. If I direct to power down or sleep, it shuts its down (or like its shutting down, see the lights flicker on the MOBO and boom its rebooting). I have tried the clover FixShutdown, have the 2 CLOVER USUS kernel patches enabled.

Am I missing something, in reading through other posts both of these scenarios above have been discussed with the solutions I suggested fixing for most.

** Update: So the system does go to SLEEP by itself properly. Which is interesting, yet manually selecting to put it to sleep does not work. Also - the Ethernet no longer works after coming "awake" - must do a reboot.

** Update #2: Was able to now get sound working. Right Mouse Click on MultiBeast -> Packages -> Resources -> ACL892 Pkg Install

Still have the SHUTDOWN Issue....... So if anyone has some suggestions, I'm all ears on this one. (And Ethernet being lost if system "sleeps" by itself)

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated !!!

Thanks !!

Ok further update for NETWORKING on SLEEP. As I mentioned in the original post the Ethernet would stop working if system went to sleep and awake again. It was using the AppleIntenE1000e.kext.... This was in the EFI/CLOVER/KEXT/10.11 Folder.

I deleted that. Also deleted my existing interface in Preferences -> Network.

Rebooted.

Installed http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/304235-intelmausiethernetkext-for-intel-onboard-lan/ (MausiEthernet KEXT - this is also available in the MULTIBEAST -> PACKAGES -> Resoures..) Problem is just installing the package did NOT install it to the EFI Mount. SO I manually coped the Mausi KEXT to the EFI / CLOVER / KEXT / 10.11 directory, rebooted. Went into Preferences Network - ADDED ETHERNET Interface eno...

Ethernet is now working perfect.

So at this point:

All Working:

Dual Monitors with GT 740.
Skylake 6700.
16GB memory
Networking
Sound
USB
Sleep/Wake

NOT WORKING:

SHUTDOWN (just powers down and reboots)
iMessage

Im thinking this is going to need some sort of DSDT magic to get SHUTDOWN working.... Maybe if someone could assist ?

Enable "ErP" setting in BIOS.
Enable Clover ACPI Fixes "FixShutdown" and also "SlpSmiAtWake".

BreBo:

Thanks, I enabled and tried both settings in BIOS (It has options to ENABLE S5, or ENABLE S4+S5) So I attempted both setting. I have also enabled the 2 options in CLOVER as you suggested..

Neither works. When selecting SHUTDOWN from APPLE MENU, system goes down, light flckers on MOBO and reboots. Now, whats interesting though, is SLEEP works.. I can manually SET SLEEP and system goes to SLEEP all lights and fans off on computer except for blinking power button (meaning in SLEEP) and wakes up fine.

Here is my CLOVER screenshot and PLIST.

Not sure if you have tried this or not - BIOS setting wake on lan. Try disabling it to see if it will let you manually shut down.

Yahhh, its disabled. I'm thinking it may be a "red herring". Meaning when I shutdown in verbose mode, I ALWAYS SEE a PANIC occur. Now I dont have an Atheros or TP-LINK ethernet card in this system. And I don't load the Atheros kext with clover. (I may have when initially building the system trying to get ethernet to work) But have since deleted the kext related to Atheros. So my thought process is the PANIC is actually causing the reboot. Because sleep and wake work fine.

I can't figure out how to remove/stop this from happening? Any ideas? (I've also ordered a TP-LINK Atheros card should be here tomorrow to see if installing one resolves the issue) But I would still like to be able to remove the problem at hand without having to install a card I don't need.

Any ideas?

It ended up being that Atheros driver that was causing the system to reboot on shutdown. So I did fresh install, knowing what to install and what not too, and system is running 100% perfect !!

Hi, smlsr.
