[solved] Asus UX310UA - installer disk util can't find the HDD

that didn't fix it,
I patched layout3.xml (I'm indeed using "3" in my kext) as the guide says
now I can see HDMI under "Intel High Definition Audio" in "About This Mac / System Report / Audio"
but no HDMI output device in "System Preferences/Sound/Output"

tried with and without FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext

I think I must give up

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.

edit: now, after another reboot, internal audio is broken too,
I'm attaching problem reporting files and the patched AppleHDA kext with modified xml

You probably need to boot without caches and rebuild cache.

yes, solved that, but still no HDMI output
same as post #80, problem reporting on post #82

Need new "Problem Reporting" files complete with ioreg that shows working audio.
You can't recycle old ioreg files/etc when things have changed.

I'm sorry, I thought it was ok the previous one,
here it is the last one with working audio, connected HDMI, patched layout3 xml, "FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext" installed

If you've tried without FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext, then no further ideas...
We have noticed that HDMI audio does not work on all Skylake...
And the fixes I already mentioned are the only ones I know of...

well I tried again today, and now it is working. Don't know what changed (obviously some mistake by me), but now I can select HDMI output and hear sounds on the HDMI monitor.
Current configuration is working without FakePCIID_Intel_HDMI_Audio.kext

Super... Good to hear.
This thread has covered a lot of ground (recent posts off-topic). But marking solved.

I'm sorry for the off-topic

now I'm going to fix USB ports and then everything is done
