Hi all, been away from the scene for a while and decided to dive back in and install Sierra on my gaming rig.

All is working well except for sleep, for which I would greatly appreciate some assistance.

When I put to sleep, the display goes into standby immediately, the PC takes around 10secs to switch off and for the power light to start flashing (as expected), but then, about 3 seconds later, it switches back on again. The display remains off, unless I press a key. If I leave it, then it goes into a standby/on loop.

I have attached my config.plist

My hardware:
Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe
Intel i7-3770K (Ivy Bridge)
8GB RAM
256GB SSD (Samsung SSD 830)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti
Wifi/Bluetooth mini PCI Intel AC7260 (just Bluetooth working as expected)
My UEFI settings:
Primary Display = PCIE
Power on by PCIE = disabled
Fast Boot: disabled
Launch CSM: disabled
Secure Boot: Other OS
NIC: Wake on Lan: disabled

These are the installation steps I had taken:
  • Created Sierra install USB using Unibeast
  • Clean install to SSD (erased disk)
  • Installed Multibeast
    • Quick Start\UEFI Boot Mode
    • IntelMausiEthernet v2.2.1d1
    • ALC898
    • Increase Max Port Limit 9 Series
    • SMBIOS: iMac 12,2 (Ivy Bridge)
  • Updated to macOS 10.12.4
  • Installed NVIDIA Web Driver 378.05.05.05f02
    • Enabled nvidiaweb boot flag
  • Compiled DSDT
    • Clover F4 to dump DSDT & SSDT
    • iasl to get DSL
    • MaciASL to compile new DSDT.aml using 'P8Z77-I Deluxe v1.01' patch from pjalm repo
  • Generated SSDT
    • used ssdtPRGen.sh to generate SSDT
    • tested. AppleIntelInfo.dat.txt output
  • Generated SSDT with HDMI audio
    • audio_cloverHDMI-120_v1.0d.command
  • Disabled Hibernate

If you are using Nvidia graphics why are you injecting Intel in your config.plist ?
Not that it will help you at all, I'm just curious.

It was there from install, I've pretty much left the Clover settings alone as it's new to me. But I had been looking at that with suspicion.

I'll remove it and reboot for good measure.

Thanks for that. I've added and restarted, unfortunately sleep is still behaving in the same way.

Ok - Try this :

Thanks again. Still not working but different results now:
Initiate standby > monitor standby & PC standby (for about 3s) > PC & monitor out of standby.

Previously it was:
Initiate standby > monitor standby & PC standby (for about 3s) > PC loops between On/Standby. Monitor stays in standby indefinitely/until keyboard press.

Sorry, other than using the forum Search tool to find a build guide with parts similar to your own, no more ideas.

I've fixed it!!!

I did some searching around and tried a few suggestions. Ultimately the one that worked was the USB3 _PRW 0x6D DSDT patch.

The compiler generated some errors, but I removed all offending lines and now I have sleep!! :-D

Need to test for a few days to make sure the install is 100% (or as near as dammit) stable, but looking good so far!
