After no sound is played on the system for a while, the next sound (alerts, notifications, music, etc) will start off with a thump from the speakers. The 'thump' is like when you power the speakers on or off.

This is on a Realtek ALC 898 going to external powered speakers.

I have computer sleep off in System Preferences->Energy Saver, but sound seems to be sleeping, then wakes up for anything that causes a sound.

Any ideas?

Maybe AntiPop would help.

I think I'd buy you a beverage!
Just installed it, let's see.

Update: Works as advertised. I didn't install it before as I thought it was only for earlier OSX version.

Now my Mac is complete and working very well!
Thanks @P1LGRIM!
