Hey, I've always been a Mac guy but around a year ago I switched to this custom built PC that was made from CyberPowerPC. Now I want to turn it into a hackintosh but don't know where to start. If I can do this, please let me know of any patches I may need to install. Here are my specs:

  • Case: Thermaltake Level 10GTS Mid Tower Gaming Case w/ EasySwap HDD bays, 2x Front USB 3.0 Ports, & Headset Holder (Black)CPU: Intel®
  • CPU: Core™ i7-3820 Quad-Core 3.60 GHz 10MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011 (All Venom OC Certified)
  • Cooling Fan: Asetek 550LC Liquid Cooling System 120MM Radiator & Fan (Advanced Cooling Performance + Extreme Silent at 20dBA)
  • Motherboard: (4-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support) ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Intel X79 Chipset Quad Channel DDR3 ATX w/ ROG Connect, BT GO, OC Key, Subzero Sense & 7.1 HD Audio, Intel GbLAN, 5 Gen3 PCIe X16 & 1 PCIe X1
  • Memory: 16GB (4GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Quad Channel Memory (Corsair or Major Brand)
  • Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 HD 2.5GB 16X PCIe Video Card
  • Hard Drive: 2TB (2TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Drive)
  • Sound: ASUS Xonar DG 5.1 Channels PCI Xonar DG Sound Card
Idk if some of those specs aren't needed. So please let me know, thanks!

Yes, your hardware is mostly compatible. Ditch the Xonar sound card and use the onboard sound. I'd suggest buying an SSD to boot OS X then you can keep your 2TB for Windows gaming. You'll want the boot drive to be less than 1TB unless the boot loader can handle a large drive now-a-days.

The motherboard is the primary component. Yours is compatible. Just search these forums for other people that have had success for further details.

Also search for GTX 570. You might need to get OS X running with the HD 3000 then install the GTX 570.

Good Luck!
