OK so I figured out something. If I remove AppleIntelBDWGraphics.kext and leave AppleIntelBDWGraphicsFramebuffer.kext alone, I don't get the hanging issue on booting but that leads to no QE/CI (which makes sense). Is there any way to patch the AppleIntelBDWGraphics kext to prevent the not-able-to-explain hang/freeze issue? I'm on 10.11.6 and 10.12.4 dual booting with vanilla kexts.
