Hi there,

I have been trying to run my hackintosh without my iBoot disc, but no success.

I followed the instructions and installed Multibeast successfully. (Easy without and with user DSDT file; which I tried to correct).

However, the startup hangs when not starting from the iBoot disc with the message: "Still waiting for root device". (this doesn't happen when booting from iBoot disc).

How can I make it boot from the HDD without iBoot?

Can anyone please assist?

Many thanks upfront and best regards

Xelus

Find enclosed the output from iboot (boot.txt) as well as some other files.

PS: I have some other issues. I finally found a driver for my Atheros Wifi card which is recognized; however AirPort can't turn it on (it is turned off). Also my App Store is not working ("an unknown error has occured") - but this I guess that I can make work in a second step. Strangly my built in touchpad and keyboard are not always working - however, I can attach an external keyboard and mouse that works well.

Some of my specs:
Intel® Core’2 Duo Prozessor T8100 (2,10 GHz, 3 MB L2 Cache, 800 MHz FSB), SiS 671 DX
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 with 256 MB Video RAM
4 GB DDR2 Arbeitsspeicher
250 GB Sata Festplatte (SSD)

Hey xelus!
Today I removed my old LG E500 out of its original case and scrapped it for it's mainboard. Want to use it as a Media device on my TV. I know that I don't necessarily need OSX on it but since all my other devices are of "appleonian" origin - I will give it a try. Your psot gave me the courage to try it. Have you had any success or discarded the project since 2013? Highly curious to hear from you!
PS: gonna try it with El Capitan. Unibeast and Multibeast approach.
PPS: this is my first try on doing something like this.
