USB or PS/2?

Legacy USB support enabled in BIOS?

As Going Bald stated check the BIOS for LEGACY USB support.

Also if your using USB mouse and Keyboard do make sure your not using a USB 3.0 port and only using the USB 2.0 ports.

or as in my case I had to use both a PS2 and USB keyboard - for the initial build. But once past that I was ok.

On some motherboards their is a Fuse for the PS2 port that could be blown - haven't seen one of those in a long time though.

If you still have issues suggest another method of testing them - use a LINUX Distro like Umbutu. And boot up from a CD to see if it works.

Also you are going direct from the USB port to the mouse /keyboard.

No KVM etc...
