Doesn't work for me…

What worked for me was using a dummy kext that enabled hardware encoding decoding on the 580, then I disabled Igpu. I also need the novpajpg kext to get jpegs in the preview app. When I had a Vega in the system no of this was required .

So, Intel Quick Sync for SMBIOS 19.X only works with Vega cards or iGPU only?

I tried SMBIOS 19.2 for my rig and Quick Sync does not work any more. I can't see any iGPU usage during video playback and encoding.

It turned out that QuickSync works on macOS 10.14.5 beta. At least for me.

The processor used in iMac 19.1 is a i9 9900k OEM and has a different ID, that’s why the consumers i9 9900k is not recognized in Mac OS.

If the iMac 2019 uses an OEM 9900k with a different ID, we could use fakeCPUID so that our retail 9900K is recognized, do you know what the CPUID of the OEMs is?

This is just a curious note!
The apple websites are wrong, they show a different ID when I check the websites in another language.

The German site also shows the 27 inch as 19,2 and like the older 2017 models, the 27 inch has the highest model identifier number (18,3). That begs the question, what actually is the correct ID for the 27 inch with i9900k CPU?!
