Weirdest thing started happening. I have no sound when the computer wakes up from sleep.

Yeah, it's a known bug I believe, started happening with the release of 10.9.4. Some have said that the older audio drivers in Multibeast 6.2.2 (I think) were helpful in fixing the issue, but I've still got the same problem (albeit less frequently).

Pain in the butt, but typically a restart will help.

Im currently trying with the exact same build (except for GTX 760). The first time the installation went all smooth until rebooted after installing some things via multibeast. After that I got the slashed circle. Currently trying my luck again, lets see...

EDIT: For some reason it worked the second time!! Its great, upon booting it doesnt even show the usual "grey start screen" but jumps straight to the desktop (on SSD)

Richie3000, I've installed Yosemite in July. Multibeast 5.5.5 and Clover v2k_r279 - works perfectly.

Hi everyone,

two years ago I went with this build, it has served me well.
I now want to upgrade it to 2014 standards. I need more video editing power especially to handle 4k footage

I'm planning on buying the extra wide
LG 34UM95-Pdisplay, so my gtx 580 probably wont be able to handle the resolution. and I believe I can still beef up my machine

My current set up is:

  • Gigabyte Z77X-UP5 TH
  • Intel i7 3770K
  • gainward gtx 580 3gb
  • Corsair Hydro Series H80
  • Corsair DDR3 1600MHz 16GB
  • Corsair Vengeance C70 Black
  • Coolermaster GX 750W
  • various hard drive and ssd

Could anyone suggest some component that would make this machine better for video editing (main use) without breaking the bank:?:

Please add your comments to my post in Buying Advice: http://www.tonymacx86.com/buying-advice/151794-slugnet-video-editor-2014-update-help.html

Thanks!

ould also note that, after getting everything working, I also connected the USB 3.0 3.5" Front Panel that came with the motherboard to the F_USB30_1 on the motherboard (which I had seen other people report as not working in their build). I have full USB 3.0 support through it, with speeds very similar to my other Blackmagic Speed Tests. That gives me 6 fully functioning USB 3.0 ports on this system. However, USB
