Hi,

following the guidance I have just installed Lion on my Notebook Asus x70i (Core2 Duo T6600 + Nvidia GT 220M GT (aka nvidia 9600M GT 1 GB) + Audio ALC662).
I state that I have 3 partitions with windows 7 + Snow Leopard + Lion now, this is the problem:
Lion at startup loads all the kext and takes a lot time, but if this does not happen when boot Snow Leopard!
Lion would seem that, contrary to Snow did not read the kext cache!
Use Kext Wizard to rebuild the kext cache, but this does not work .....

Do you have the same problem?

I apologize for any grammatical errors, but I'm using Google Translator

After everything was checked out I did this to significantly reduce bootup time
-------
Move all the kext files in Extra/Extensions to System/Library/Extensions.
Run Kext_Utility.app ver 2.5.ob Lion Ready after moving the kext files from E/E to S/L/E.
Then add "UseKernelCache=Yes" to org.chameleon.Boot.plist to speed up bootup.

Great!
I updated with org.chameleon.Boot.plist "UseKernelCache = Yes" and the boot has become very fast!!

JohnJCash Thanks for the tip, I learned a new

problem solved!

There remains only one problem with Shutdown:

I have noticed that if I do not have the graphics acceleration everything is fine (works perfectly),
but if I post

"<key> GraphicsEnabler </ key>
<string> y </ string>

in org.chameleon.Boot.plist video acceleration works, but no Shutdown properly!
you advice on this?

Sorry but I'm a one trick pony. ;-)

When I installed 10.7 I used this technique and had great success. You might get a hint if you look into his mkboot and finalize scripts.

"This method was created (and tested) for the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 motherboard but it should be relatively easy to modify for any other motherboard. "

I am running a GA-EP45 UD3R-F12 with a quad Q8300 overclocked to 3.5GHz with 8GB memory and a 9800 GT graphics card. I really like and highly recommend the USB memory stick install method described in this article.

It's fairly easy to do. Before building the USB memory stick I added the DSDT for my motherboad plus a couple of 64x kexts that enable the PS2 port for my beloved PS2 keyboard. I used the "stock" DSDT-GA-EP45-UD3R-F12.aml that I download from TonyMac 07/21/11

It worked like a charm, after the install it just boots up and there are no sleep wakeup reset problems, etc. Use MultiBeast 3.8 to add features. And best of all you end up with a Lion installer on a bootable USB memory stick customized for your Hackentosh rig.
