Sleep not working

Hi

I can't get sleep to work, if i click on sleep the screen is black for few seconds and that's it.

My specs:

MSI Z97 Gaming Pro 3
Intel Core i5-4690k
AMD Radeon HD 5770
12 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Ethernet: AtherosE2200 (Killer E2200)
Audio: Realtek ALC1150

When you say, "That's it," what do you mean? Does it restart? Does it wake back up? Be more descriptive, please.
