Hello,

I am building a Skylake system pretty soon and was wondering if these parts are fine for a Hackintosh. I am new to Hackintosh so any help is appreciated. Here are my parts:

Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Noctua NH-L9i 57.5 CFM CPU Cooler
Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory
Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
250 GB HDD
Fractal Design Node 202 HTPC Case w/450W Power Supply
Broadcom BCM94352Z NGFF M.2 W iFi WLAN Bluetooth 4.0 802.11ac
Geforce GTX 640 (Extra card from my PC)

If any of these parts are not usable for a Hackintosh please let me know.

Thank You! :)

I am a newbie like you so the first to do, if you didn't yet, is check if the important component, the mobo, the CPU and the GPU, are listed in the Buyer's Guide. Then the question may be if they are good match performance and cost wise.
The other component, if they fit in the case should be OK.

I'm a newbie as well and I also have the i5-6500. I have a working install of El Capitan but have an issue with graphic artifacts that I am still trying to figure out. Even tried integrated graphics and no solution yet.

Mine is:
i5-6500
Gigabyte Z170m-D3H
EVGA GEFORCE GTX 950

Two things stand out to me:

1. The only reason to get an aftermarket cooler, is if you want to do overclocking. But the i5-6500 is not unlocked. You would need at least an i5-6600k. And you would want to get a bigger power supply. I would say that 450W is enough for that system only if you don't overclock. It seems like a budget to mid-tier build, so why not just use the stock cooler?

2. I assume you mean GT 640. That's kind of old, compared to the rest. I can't say for sure it works in El Capitan, cause I'm not up to date on that topic, but it probably should.
