Simplest Mac OS X Installation Guide

Thanks, it works perfectly!

Article: Simplest Mac OS X Installation Guide

I'm putting together a new machine and I do NOT have another intel mac available. I do have this ibm mac that i'm using now.
Parts are the gigabyte ga z87x ud7th, version 2 with bios f4 and the other parts recommended in the guide. I'll be using on board video to start with, and a hdmi to dvi cable.

I already have the machine running windows 7 and I'll be putting osx on a seperate SSD. I know to remove the windows drive to start with.

At the risk of asking a dumb question, or two....

1.
If I follow the directions below, will I have wifi internet access after installing from the snow leopard dvd 10.6.3?
I'm just unsure about the part where it says not to run MultiBeast. I guess I need to fully install 10.6.3 and run MultiBeast, install the wifi card, then update to 10.6.8 and skip MultiBeast at that point.

Sorry for asking something that I should be able to figure out from the guides. I'm just getting very close to doing this and I want to have it figured out completely, before I start.

2. If I want to try to run a firepro or radeon video card should I not upgrade to mavericks? What would be the best version of osx for those video cards?

Thanks again. No more questions until I actually do this : )

Get 10.6.8 installed. You don't need to run MultiBeast, just boot with iBoot and go to the Mac App Store, create an account and download Mavericks; Mavericks will start to install, however, quit the installer. Create the UniBeast USB thumb drive. Reboot into your BIOS and make the UniBeast USB thumb drive your primary boot drive. The rest of the steps are in the tonymacx86 10.9 Installation Guide.

I have a New MacBook Air with pre installed "Mavericks". I was going to construct a desktop system but haven't found a way to create the OS X UniBeast USB bootable installer from the pre-installed "Mavericks". Apple won't allow another download since the system came with it. I have built many PC based systems but OS X is a different creature. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for this MacMan! I will try that and post the results.

Here, in the simplest of terms, is the method for retail Mac OS X installation using iBoot, UniBeast, and MultiBeast without access to a Mac. If you have access to a Mac, use the default UniBeast guide on it's own.

1. Purchase Snow Leopard Retail DVD
2. Use iBoot + MultiBeast to install Snow Leopard
3. Update to Snow Leopard 10.6.8
4. Purchase OS X Application
5. Prepare UniBeast USB Installation Drive
6. Fresh install OS X
7. Post installation using MultiBeast

Hope this helps.

This doesn't work anymore with Sierra, right? Because Sierra needs OSX 10.7.

It is way more complicated now, something like :

1. Purchase Snow Leopard & Lion
2. Create Clover USB for Snow Leopard (on windows or linux)
2. Boot Snow Leopard DVD
3. Install Snow Leopard
4. Create bootable Lion USB
5. Install Lion
6. Boot Lion
7. Download Sierra
8. Create UniBeast USB
9. Install Sierra
