Hello there, i've made an Hackintosh 1 year ago, and works perfectly... untill this morning.
I was working, a program (whatsapp client stop to work) so i download it again and overwrite it, during overwrite Sierra ask me the sys admin password, usually he remember the username and you have to put only the passw, this time was empty user and passw field, so i write it but the OS says is wrong, re type again i'm sure was correct and nothing happened, so this is the first signal of something wrong, then i reboot and the nightmare start... after the loading bar (like 95%) the hackintosh shut down.
I am running a dual boot on separate ssd's with windows 10 and Sierra.
Here my configuration:
Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz 8MB

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 D5 NVIDIA 2GB

Corsair CMK16GX4M2B3200C16

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 D5 NVIDIA 2GB

Verbose screen attached

Thank you

Hey man! I have exactly the same thing today. My CPU is also the same.

Did you have tried to load recovery mode?

Same you mean the Issue or the whatsapp upgrade too?
Yeah recovery doesn't fix.
Did you solve it?

Before restarting I relogin into whatsup web client, but I don't think it's the case.

About recovery mode: On my ssd I have 3 partitions:
EFI - loader
Sierra - system
Recovery - for recovery stuff.

And when i load recovery mode it loads with EFI(as I understand), and loads perfect, but if I try to load system with the same loader it's ctuck and turns off.

I think it is something with caches

I have a similar problem. Everything worked very well but today The osx progress bar loads halfway and the computer shuts down.
(Asus z87m-plus, i5 4460 3,2Ghz haswell, hd4600, ssd Samsung 850 EVO )

Do you know how to solve the problem?

Looks like I'm #3 in the Sierra failed to boot reports for today. All three on the same day with the same OS. Something's up. I was able to recover because I had a Sierra USB installer with Clover on it that I use for recovery purposes and was able to reinstall the OS without losing data, but this is really disconcerting. I was able to then clone my boot drive to the recovery partition I have on my main data drive specifically for issues like this, so nothing was lost. But again, all of us having the same problem on the same day raises concerns something else is amiss.

I had left my system on overnight as I went to sleep (for nearly a full day to help my pleuritis calm down) and when I came back, my internet was no longer working, so I restarted my system. Boom. FIPS_POST FAILURE and instant shutdown during the bootup process. I'm back up and running now because I had taken measures to have remedies on hand, but to see more than one report of a shutdown on bootup all happening on the exact same day...

Same here ! Z77XUD5H / I7 3770K. All was ok until today.
First, the "no admin anymore" issue then after reboot, stuck and shutdown @70%.

Tried to use my recovery partition to boot (CCC). Success but only for one boot. Now I'm unable to boot on each of them.

Thank you

I posted this same issue today and left for work hoping someone would recognize the problem while i was at work. So i checked halfway through my shift to see if anyone responded and i clicked this thread thinking that it was mine. And as i was reading the post i had this weird sensation. It was like my post but not exactly, thats when i realized that it was someone else's post. hahaha.

check my post out. its actually eerie how similar some sections of our posts are.

Guys this worked to me <3

Boot into Single User mode
mount -uw /
rm -fr /var (I'd prefer: mv /var /var-bak )
ln -s /private/var .
chflags -h -v restricted,hidden,uchg var
reboot

Thank you so much @P1LGRIM !
