I have a DS61 I used as old home theater PC, and I am thinking about making it into a hackintosh as a fun project while social distancing. Realize you did this many, many years ago, but any tips on how you got the DS61 up and running? I even have the same i3 3225 chip. Thanks!

Why Mountain Lion? Why not High Sierra or Mojave?

I had a couple of the Intel-based Shuttles. They were great fun to build. Yes, agreed, I suspect you'd have difficulty installing any modern macOS. :)

I'm going to try Mojave or Catalina, just thought I'd ask macwannabe first for any tips (fully realizing that it was 7 years ago and MacOS has evolved a bit since then!). Mojave runs great on my old Ivy Bridge hackintosh. Hopefully I hear back, but if not I will give it a shot and let everyone know how it goes!

You should be able to get HD4000 working in Mojave (I have it on my HD4000 on my laptop), but Catalina mileage may vary. I did install Catalina on a DH61DL motherboard so it should be likely on a 61 series motherboard.
