Hi everyone, i have just built a catalina build i was on High Sierra for years and loved it but decided to get a rx580 so i could take advantage of metal and update to Catalina and had a few problems. I have spent two days looking and im not the best at this but usually have battled thorugh and got stuff working, i would really appreciate any tips at all. Big LOve!

Overcome problems and how i solved them:
Glitches on boot screen with apple - Installed latest Lilu and Whatever using hackintool - Solved

Aftwer awaking from sleep computer wakes but no graphics - switch off Serial Port A - Disabled - Solved

Current Problem
If i sleep from apple menu computer shuts down fully and awakes but after around 10-15 seconds it shuts down and i have pasted the error report belowe.

If my computer self sleeps from non use the graphics shut down to a black screen but the computer appears to still be running.

I have tried no effect:

Removing WIFI pcie card

I just unplugged all of my harddrives except for my bbot drive ssd and now i can awake from sleep from the menu without a crash, tried it 5 times. If i let it sleep naturaly by timing it will still just black the screen but the computer appears to be running as all fans inside are running.

I just tried to rearrange my harddrives so just using 0-1-2-3 sata plugs as someone suggested in the forum but it has started to crash again after the wake. So it would appear it is the harddrives making it crash? I am at a otal loss now what to try.

In BIOS try disabling your serial port, that should solve the black screen on wake issue

Hi Humanate

As stated i already did that and after i can awake but then after about 10-15 seconds my computer shuts down, it appears to not do this though with only my boot ssd connected.

I deleted my usb kexts and now just have installed 7/8/9/ series usb support kext installed and it can now naturally go to sleep by timing out but still after it awakes it will shut down after about 10-15 secs.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you know that i solved my problem and sleep is now working ok, i did quite a few tweaks to get it going so not exactly sure which one solved it but i wanted to list them here so anyway trying to solve the problem can try these.

I am currently running 10.15.5

In BIOS disabled my serial port

Updated Clover to latest version

Updated the following kexts to the latest versions:

AppleALC.kext
Lilu.kext
WhateverGreen.kext

Renamed these using clover configurater and editing my config.plist:
change EHC1 to EH01
change EHC2 to EH02

I used this guide to configure my USB ports:

I unplugged my old optical DVD drive

Turned off screen saver

Turned off wake for network access

hi dsk,
same issue here !
Same board with an I5 4690K, intel graphics, fresh catalina install, it is no big deal for me to use it as a "never go to sleep" machine, but I would like to solve this just for the confort of a 100% working hackintosh ;)
I'm trying different ways, I'll let you know !
