Hey gang,

Looking to build first Hakintosh, with PC gaming. Basically, I want to run Yosemite for everything except gaming. I've read a million web pages on compatibility of my proposed build, but being new, may have missed something, and am very open to any helpful feedback and/or recos (please explain your recs). I am planning on running both OS's off the same SSD. I haven't played video games in years, but am looking to get back into it on a somewhat casual level, and anticipate playing mainly FPS (CS, CoD, etc; maybe couple racing games). I was originally looking at the MSI Z97 Gaming 5, but read gigabyte is more compatible with OSX? Is this system overkill for casual gaming? I'd like to be able to upgrade to 4k in a few years without completely overhauling the system. Thanks in advance for the feedback and any recos!

That's almost exactly the same build as I'm looking at. After some forum research I'm pretty sure this will work, but not 100% sure. It would be nice if someone with experience could give a quick confirmation.

Really good selection of parts you have there, yes, you'll have a successful installation of Yosemite/lower except lion, that being said, your motherboard doesn't work with FREE DSDT, in MultiBeast, you'll need to choose the option that says (EasyBeast) here's a thread that explains why, http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...eforce-gtx-750-ti-2gb-yosemite-10-10-1-a.html he/she's got the same board, ignore his/her other components as they don't matter since you both have the same boards, just follow what he/she did to get up and running. good luck :]
