Hi there,

I just managed to upgrade my old HTPC to High Sierra (no Mojave due to Intel HD 3000).

There's just one problem: My secondary internal data drive (2TB Seagate HDD) isn't recognised at the desktop. Instead, I get an alert after a few seconds that asks me to eject or initialise the drive.

The drive shows up in BIOS detection and when I connect it to another Mac/Hack it shows up with all its data etc. So it's not a mechanical problem.

It does recognise external USB HFS+ volumes.
I replaced VBoxHfs-64.efi with Hfsplus.efi. No dice.
I tried installing MultiBeast's fix for Intel SATA ports. No dice.

Does anybody have an idea what's wrong here and how I can solve the problem?

I'd really appreciate any help!

Some SATA controllers have issues with AppleAHCIPort v329 (eg ICH10, 5 series, 7 series, ASMedia 1061)
Disks may fail to initialise, not readable or hot plug may fail.

See [Solved] ICH10R and High Sierra and try Fix for ICH10.
Or see [Solved] Problem: HDD not supported and try new ICH patch.

A quick update: Just upgraded my HTPC to Mojave ("replacing" the HD3000 with an MSI GT 710).

The first solution from BreBo's post didn't work anymore, so I tried the second one – and it worked perfectly.

Try new ICH patch by vit9696.
