Looking to upgrade from 10th Gen intel stock cooler.... have seen all the air cooler videos but none compare these two directly. They both cost the same and I like both esthetically. I have read a couple of reviews from people with defective heat plate (not flat) for the Mugen 5 but also the heat pipes on the Redux are not welded to the heat plate. :problem:

Is one better than the other?

The heatsink on the Mugen 5 is much bigger but the cooling performance and noise levels are similar. I think the Mugen still is ok with ram clearance due to it's design.

Yes the Mugen is a bigger unit.

This is actually the Redux image (gray fan) w/4 heat pipes (not 5 like their other models). Noctua skimps a bit on this... the heat pipes are not welded to the plate not sure if the same on the Mugen.

Be careful of the height and closeness of the caps to the cpu socket when you use the Mugen - interference is possible as I found on a m-ITX build.
