Has anyone managed to solve what I think is a resolution change during the boot process to Yosemite? mid way through the loading process from the apple logo, the screen turns black then turns back on and I can see the login screen, (much like when a game or other software changes the screen resolution). My current settings are:

A while ago my screen would change to a grey fuzzy static, rather than black, and I remember I changed something and it fixed the fuzziness, but brought about the black screen (which makes me think there must be a fix for the black screen too).
Some more info that might be important but idk:
My graphics card is a nVidia GeForce 960 and is connected to my monitor via DVI cable.
I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 (14F1509).
Sorry if this has already been solved or if I'm missing any important info (I'm still knew to Hackintoshing).
