I just got a new monitor and I am having trouble getting WoW to play nicely.

Here is my system - it's a Hack

What I want to do is set the monitor to 2560x1440 and play WoW in windowed mode at 1920x1080. This is how I have my 27" iMac set up and everything is the size I need it to be.

I have the new monitor set at 2560x1444. But the problem is when I set the WoW resolution. When I set WoW to 1920x1080, the window is about 1/9 the screen area. At 2560x1440 it's 1/4.

I did try the solution in this post: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/8873728013
But is had zero effect.

Any ideas on how to get the WoW resolution to scale properly with the monitor resolution?

I managed to solve the issue. Perhaps one of you knowledgable people can explain why/how this works.

When I initially set up the monitor, I set the DisplayPort stream to 1.2. This is required to get 60Hz refresh rate at native resolution (3840x2160) Setting the DisplayPort stream to 1.1 provides the desired result.

It would be interesting to know why the DP 1.2 causes this scaling issue. For giggles I switched back DP 1.2. with WoW running. When I click on the WoW window, it forced the resolution to something higher than the native (3840x2160). I assume 5120x2880 which is 2x 2560x1440.
