Ok....so, I want to use the original drive cable that came with my G5 case. I went out and bought a 4 pin to 8 pin power cable adapter to connect to my PSU's 4 pin power cable and hook it up to the SATA cable to power it. When I have everything hooked up, it doesn't power up. I have the "ready" green light on my MOBO (an Intel BOXDP55KG) saying it's getting power, but nothing goes. When I disconnect that adapter cable...the mobo powers up. I've had everything hooked up in the past (through different connecters, mind you) and it's worked just fine. Could I have a bad SATA cable? Or do I need to wire the front panel first? Anybody have any idea?
