I just bought an SM951 256GB PCIe SSD to replace my XP941. Previously, I had modded my bios to include the Samsung EFI module and I could boot from the XP941. No such luck with the SM951. However, the SM951 is write able in OS X. Anyone try this? Different EFI module needed in bios?

Just wanted to update that I upgraded to a Gigabyte z97mx Gaming 5. Once I updated the bios to F5, the XP941 in the m.2 slot and the SM951 in the PCIe adapter were recognized in the bios and are bootable.

Have sm951 256gb via lycom pcie adapter on my x79. It sees the drive post boot and works great but bios does not see it and I cant boot from it yet :( let me know if you find a solution. Ive heatd it works on x99 boards and I'll probably upgrade soon

Thanks for the info. I'm looking to upgrade my XP941 boot drive (in a gigabyte z97x-ud7 th with modded bios) to the SM951. Hopefully they've updated the official bios on my board to make the SM951 bootable so I don't have to mess with modding it any longer.
