I have had issues with my 840 EVO ever since I bought it to replace my Samsung 830. The write speeds drop considerably after about 30 seconds. I e-mailed Samsung yesterday, and they wrote me back and told me of a new firmware release yesterday:

In case any one has similar issues, they might want to try it. I guess I had a question though. Since you have to install this firmware using Windows, can I clone my current drive to a random HDD drive I have, then boot using the HDD, then reformat the SSD for Windows? Once I do that and go into Windows 7 (I have a dual-boot on separate drives), and update the firmware, if I again reformat it for Mac, do I still keep the updated firmware? Hopefully that makes sense. Any help is appreciated.
