Hello, I was updating my Sierra to High Sierra. Installation process seemed to be successful but I encountered a immediate kernel panic problem after installation.

Others who have the same problem can fix it by dropping tables like MATS and DMAR.

But the method does not work for me.

I tried to press F2 to record the preboot log but nothing shows in my USB EFI/Clover/misc (I am booting from High Sierra USB installer so that I can edit the config.plist).

The EFI folder in my USB is posted. I use the config.plist given by the example config plist in the link below combined with drop tables config. I only use two kexts the latest FakeSMC.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext.

I really have no idea what to do now and I am frustrated for days.

Could anybody help?

Thank u in advance.

My motherboard is GIGABYTE B85N phoenix wifi.

CPU is intel E3 v1231.

GPU is EVGA GTX 960.

==========================

Update:

Problem solved.

!!!Finally after months of struggle, I successfully installed the High Sierra.

In my case, I update the Clover from 4220(At that time 4220 is the latest version) to the latest 4243 and the installation turns to be successful. NO MORE kenel panic!

I had to remove GPU and make IGPU primary (BIOS) activate MATS in order to do the process. After installation it asked to install nvidia drivers when it reboots don't insert GPU yet. wait for the next reboot then make GPU 1st priority

Try:
config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/FixHeaders_20000000=true

New Clover accepts:
config.plist/ACPI/DSDT/Fixes/FixHeaders=true

No "Problem Reporting" files attached.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

Sorry for the late reply.

I still have the same problem. The verbose mode output is still the same as the picture posted in #1.

Finally I can collect my preboot log and ACPI origin dump log. They are posted below.

In addition, I find MATS and DMAR are not in my firmware(in Clover 'o' option). I think that is why dropping table method fails.

Moreover, all the config files in my Clover zip don't work at all...

Hope anybody could find the problem!

Thank u in advance.

What CPU do you have? With Sierra 12.6 you can use the lilukext and WhateverGreenKext to get it working if you don't have integrated graphics on your chipset.

I got the same exact issue on my Dell 9010. I notice my keyboard and mouse died during the installation =[.
