Greetings,

I know that have been many posts on this particular subject. At one point in time I had the sound working using the Multibeast 4.6.1 stated in Mikhal build. But due to a RAM slot error on my motherboard I had to RMA the MB.

After the reinstallation of the new MB, updated to the same bios (ram slot all working) and booted from the same hard drive I have not been able to get the sound back.

In the sound preferences is shows all the options (and the volume up and down visual) and when I plug-in headphones it recognize them, yet no sound! This is driving me crazy.

Following attempts to fix:

Multibeast 4.6.1
Interim Ivy Bridge Lion AppleHDA
VoodooHDA

Any ideas will be much appreciated, I've been at this for two weeks.

Since you're posting in the Mountain Lion Desktop Support forum section instead of the Lion Desktop Support forum section, I assume you've upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion.

In that case, use MultiBeast for Mt. Lion v5.5.5 instead of MultiBeast for Lion (v4.6.1). Just select the audio w/o DSDT for your audio chipset. Then, reboot using UseKernelCache=No.
