Hi,

I've a hackintosh perfectly running Sierra 10.12.5 (i7 4790K, MSI H97 Gaming 3 and 32GB DDR3).

I'm mostly doing video editing with FCPX (often in 4K) and sometimes Resolve, and 3D with Cinema 4D. I'm currently looking to buy a Nvidia GTX1060 or AMD RX580, and I can't tell which one is best for my need. I'm not going to do gaming.

Seems like both have there pros and cons... But AMD cards looks to have better performance on Macs, is it still the case?

Thanks!

How is FCPX working with your setup? I'm having problems with a lot of stutter (almost unuseable) when editing 4k or even 2k60 (1080p60 works fine). Is there any additional driver installation for cpu? Seems like final cut is using more cpu than gpu when editing (in activity monitor there is 250-350% cpu usage, but vent on gpu is almost unheareable). I'm using latest nvidia beta web drivers. I know that AMD cards perform better because of Open CL support, but it cant be that slow on this kind of machine.

MOBO: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
CPU: Intel Core i5 6600K
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (ExOC)
OS: MacOS Sierra 10.12.5 (lattest)
Im also using two SSD drives so the drive is not a bottleneck.

Any help? I'm pretty new in hackintosh scene =)
