RX 6700 XT is compatible with big sur?

Unfortunately, like @CaseySJ states, 6700XT is not supported. No luck. We'll still need to wait, and not loose the hope. :O(
I installed 12.1 beta. Writting this lines from it.

I have sold mine already. Only got about $150 less than what I paid for. I was done waiting.

At this point, I might just put the money towards one of the shiny new M1 Max computers.

I got my 6700 XT at a good price (in today's standards, anyway).
Now I'm a bit divided on whether I should sell it to buy a 6600 XT or if I should keep it and wait a bit longer.

(I don't really need the extra juice that 6700 XT offers, but it would be certainly welcome.)

Sounds like a great plan! :)

Driver support depends on what Apple sells. The Mac Pro uses Radeon Pro workstation GPUs, not consumer GPUs; there is no W6700 in the Radeon Pro lineup. An iMac with a RX6700 is beyond unlikely.
So my advice would be to get a 6600. But I may be wrong.

There's a slight chance, Apple eGPUs sold for MacBooks and iMacs may eventually get the drivers. These opened up a lot of cards a couple of years ago.

I wonder what's the logic for Apple only supporting 6600, 6800, and 6900, but not supporting 6700? Not sure why they would support the 6600 and not the 6700 since they are both on Navi 23.

No, the 6700 XT is based on Navi 22 while the 6600 / 6600 XT are based on Navi 23.

So support for the 6600 / 6600 XT does NOT necessarily mean support for the 6700 XT.

If Apple does not add 6700 XT support in Monterey (or later) you will never be able to use it with graphics acceleration in MacOS.

is there hope ? what are your predictions ?
