RX 6700 XT is compatible with big sur?

I'm about to buy a MSI Radeon RX 6700 XT, but I don't know if it's compatible with my current version version of Big Sur 11.4.
Not compatible, get the RX 6800 instead and it will work. Might take some searching to find one under 800.

Does it matter if it's a XT gaming phantom one ? Or should I try to find a 5700 ?
Can we expect to have the 6700 XT available for mac user in a near futur ?

Get a 6800, 6800xt or 6900xt

6700/xt or 6900xtxh don't work, al least with 11.4

Any news on 11.5?

Edit: Nevermind, just saw that it wasn't supported on the 11.5 beta, so I'm guessing 11.5 is not going to be the one. :(

The new WX cards are out and they are Navi 23. 6700XT is Navi 22. If they are to support these workstation cards, I imagine the 6700XT will be supported too.

Have high hopes that mac will continue to support further Navi versions and GPU's. I hope sooner than later!

Will remain cautious on buying any 'too new' gpu's going forward if planning to use as an eGPU on mac os.

As of my research today, only the 6800, 6800XT and 6900XT are supported.

They are supporting these Navi cards only for the 2019 MP and possibly a 2022 MP so I wouldn't expect support would be added for the 6700XT. The 2013 TC Mac Pro obviously can't use these and the 2012 and older Mac Pros are not supported in Big Sur or Monterey.

The W6600 covers the lower end/lower cost and the 6800/6900XTs the higher end. Apple wants Mac Pro owners to buy the more expensive/powerful AMD cards that's why they only support a few models. I don't think the 6700XT will get support even in Monterey. No reason for Apple to do that. It forces MP owners to up the ante for a 6800 or better.

So Apple supports Navi 21 (6800, 6800 XT, and 6900 XT) and Navi 23 (6600 XT presumed) but skips Navi 22 (6700 XT). Good job.

It's sad to hear that apple has no reason to cover support for Navi 22. So I am curious, is it possible (or how hard is it) for hackintoshers to get Navi 22 support (by spoofing, kext patching, or reverse engineering?) If yes, what can we do or try at this moment?

The latest WEG has been updated to allow better spoofing of AMD cards. The 6900 XTXH models can now be spoofed to work as XTX models.

If they add 6600 support you may be able to spoof the 6700 series to use the drivers.

You will need to use the new WEG, fake device ID and a SSDT.BRGT.aml
