I noticed today that my rx580 shows up as 480 in my boot.log. In OS however it shows up correctly. Has anyone ever seen this?

I've never worried about it, I think the device ID for 480 and 580 is the same?

Any clue why this happens and if its something I need to fix OR does it do any harm?

Clover lists it as a RX 480 because the device ID is 0x67DF1002 the same as the RX 470-580.

Right on then! Does anyone care to look over my boot log to see if I've got anything work fixing?

Same thing here, so do we have to look into clover and change something ?

Unlikely, Graphics->Inject->ATI should be off, if you're booting with native EFI/GOP and the display doesn't wake after sleep you might enable the RadeonDeInit function.

You could go to insanelymac site and follow the clover development thread and mention it. The problem may be that the RX 470-590 all have the same device ID and in order to get clover to recognize each card differently may take some serious development work which takes away from other issues and problem solving.
As long as Apple recognizes the card correctly once booted it doesn’t seem to be be a major problem.

Yeah its purely aesthetic. Still caught my eye.
