RX 580 FCPX video rendering issues

Hi,

I recently done my first hackintosh project using Sapphire Pulse RX580.

System works fine, not tested with any applications.
I am using this machine for photo and video editing (PS + FCP X)

I will be testing FCPX in this system next week, any advice ?

Good luck have fun and be patient. Hackintoshes are great but they definitely require some TLC. But its better than buying the real thing for your left kidney

So I’ve got a 480 not a 580, but I’m having the same greenish issues. I followed the steps but I’m booting to black screen. I think it has to do with the intel ID. It’ll boot without one but when I put one in it boots to black screen. After all the steps minus the intel ID I still had the green artifacts. Any ideas?

Hey again, lets make sure you followed the steps:

DSDT Patch: GFX0->IGPU

Try Devices->Add Properties:
Device: IntelGFX Key: AAPL,GfxYTile Value: 0AAAAA00 Type: DATA

Graphics: Inject Intel + ig-platform-id : 0x59120003

Kexts:
IntelGraphicsFixup.kext
Lilu.kext
WhateverGreen.kext

Couldn't get your solution to work if I kept the ig-platform-id as 0x59120003 however if I left that field blank it worked for me with one little issue. After sleep and wake, I can't view videos online at all. It just sits there loading until I force quit safari or chrome. Any ideas as to what is happening?

Thank you so much, I had the same FCPX glitching issue,as well as performance degrade, and it drove me nuts. After followed your steps, it works. Only thing is I had to use -disablegfxfirmware upon booting, otherwise I would have a long booting time, a -v boot shows it has "Hash data from ME never returned, status = 1, doing retry #" error after I enabled iGPU.

True! i forgot the -disablegfxfirmware , but it was enabled in the config i uploaded earlier, just forgot to mention it.

it looks like you have the same motherboard as i have, and gpu, so you can use my EFI for a 100% working state.

Just got my results on some benchmarks tests above

Tested all applications and system works flawlessly, for me the performance is outstanding in all apps such as FCPX, PS, etc

You think that i should try to use your EFI for even better performance ?

If there is no degradation in OpenCL performance (usually after playing videos, try youtube) then your system works as intended and you don't need to try my EFI

You have a skylake processor - I would recommend you try

I have a Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H with CPU Intel 1150 i5-4570 (igpu HD4600) and graphics card Sapphire Pulse rx580
Before fcpx only shared master files prores422, now everything works!

- ig-platform-id 0x0d220003 (Haswell Desktop)
BIOS
- Initial Display Output PCIe
- Intel Processor Graphics Enabled
- Intel Processor Graphics Memory Allocation 64M
- DVMT Total memory Size 128M

Ok here is my problem:
switched from gtx 970 to rx 580 8gb hoping for a better experience with FCPX.
At first, everything seemed working well but without a great benefit in FCPX 10.4.1. About the same speed with 970 even if OpenCL score in Geekbench was higher.

Problems started when I tried to export with Compressor or FCPX H264: sometimes the entire system crashed and rebooted, other times only said "failed".

Then I enabled iGPU and followed the instruction of MatiCohen about clover and kext but with no luck.

Now if I enable iGpu I cannot see anything (black screen) while if I disable or set to auto the iGpu in bios I cannot export H264.

Attached my EFI.

My System:
High Sierra 10.13.4
Gigabyte Z170X UD5 TH
i6700k
Sapphire RX 580 8gb.
