Thanks to the Tonymacx86 community I have my Hackintosh almost working perfectly and beautifully, with the exception of audio not working at all. Can anyone give some good steps to remove all the modifications to the sound drivers? I just want to "roll back" all the attempts I've tried to put in the Voodoo and Alc888 audio hacks and start fresh. My DP55WB does not want to start the sound for some reason, I just wanna clear everything out and try a different method without blowing away my entire system and reinstalling OS X fresh!

Here is my dmesg, in case it matters for troubleshooting:

Looks like the board uses the ALC888
Not sure if my guide will for for that viewtopic.php?f=7&t=267
as the drivers at the source only seem to support 5 or 6 rear jacks, not just three. You might have to be a bit creative, but you seem to be the right kind of person to be able to hack together your own driver judging by your DSDT posts.
You could try the 3out2in solution (with HDA or Legacy depending on how you've connected up the front audio connectors on your case), but I really don't know if it'll work or not.

Do i need to get rid of the VoodooHDA kext that I installed in order for the ALC to work? If so what is the proper way to do it? Just delete the file from /S/L/E ??

I already tried the 3outs2in with both HDA and Legacy but neither seems to be working, you think VoodooHDA might be interfering?

I know this probably belongs under the big ALC88x sticky thread but I just want to "reset to defaults" on the sound and start over from the beginning... You know how these things are :)

Yes and yes
Don't forget to repair the disk permissions once you've removed it
The LegacyHDA.kext only works with a properly edited DSDT, unless you also install HDAEnabler.kext

Here's what I did, about to reboot *fingers crossed*

Doug-iMac:Extensions dougm$ sudo rm -r VoodooHDA.kext/
