I'm at a bit of a loss, in the guide( https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/override-edid-for-display-problem.47200/ ) it shows the IODisplayEDID in this format:

"IODisplayEDID" = <00ffffffffffff004c83464c0000000000180104952213780ace859e5b4c942617505400000001010101010101010101010101010101d8cc00a0f07019803020260058c21000001ad8cc00e0f17071813020260058c21000001a000000fe00323033385780313536464c0a200000000000024121a4610000000a010a202000df>

And his edited "plist" shows in this format:

Am I missing anything? Should I convert it in any way? Or just replace the AP//////.... with my 00fffff....
Guess I'll try just using the 00fff... as EDID in the plist and see what happens, can always delete it if anything goes wrong.

I'm not sure what you're looking at, but <data> fields in a plist are encoded in base64.
Use a plist editor so you can enter hex data.

That makes sense! Used TextWrangler, will download Xcode for the Plist Editor as soon as I fix the MAS.

Brightness Keys work now :D

Got MAS working! Xcode is downloading and I'll continue tomorrow morning at work ^_^
Thanks for all the help until now @RehabMan !

update:

Managed to properly do the Display Override, sadly with no success, it acts the same as before, whenever I select default resolution, screen goes black.
Any other idea regarding this?

Thank you!

Did you add similar data in the display override as what you find in retina Macs?
Will require some research on that data...

Are you referring at scale-resolutions? (those that you talk about in https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/adding-using-hidpi-custom-resolutions.133254/)
I did not, i could not figure out how to convert resolutions into the data required to enter, I'll start googling about it again.

(read the guide again ... found the #222 post)

Thank you!

Added a few custom resolutions, it now allows me to choose even higher "looks like" resolutions, sadly it does the same thing. Once I select the Default for Display (which is Looks like 1920x1080) screen goes black. Tried selecting the higher one as well, same story.
Attached the plist as well, could you please take a look at it and tell me if I'm doing anything wrong?

Thank you!

Could be issue with DVMT-prealloc...

Roger, will change to 128MB and extract new ACPI & patch them. Should be pretty fast, considering I already know exactly what to patch now.
Will come back with updates as soon as I finish.

Thank you.

Might also be a refresh rate issue... (although it seems strange the problem wouldn't show at the other scaled resolutions).
