Hello, I'm a newbie here and I just finished installing Mac OS 10.8 on my PC. My PC has the following configuration:

  • Intel Core i7 3770 CPU
  • On-board Intel 4000 HD GPU
  • Gigabyte GA-H77N-Wifi Motherboard
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 1 TB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive
  • Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

I did not use any DSDT (not required for my board). I installed using Unibeast and then followed guides from this forum to set-up Multibeast. I also set-up my BIOS according to what was mentioned in the guides. I have a nearly flawless build. There are no issues with Graphics, Sleep, Audio, Bluetooth, etc.
But my remaining issues are:

  • USB 3.0 Ports don't work with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 Devices
I tried searching for solutions. I found one thread which recommended using a kext (GenericUSBXHCI_1.2.7) which enabled USB 3.0. Didn't work.

  • iMessage and FaceTime don't work. An error message is displayed: "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection"

For this issue, I used another file I found on the forum called FileNVRAM.dylib (/Extra/modules/). But didn't help at all. Still got the same error.

I'd appreciate any help I get. Also, I'm a newbie, so excuse me if I've said/done something silly.

Thanks,
Lucy.

Hi,

Do you have a wifi connection?

A lot of times, the iMessage/Facetime problem is cured by connecting with a wifi connection for the first time. Doesn't matter if you then go back to Ethernet.

There was also an issue to do with date/time synchronisation, which affected Facetime. Will see if I can find the thread.

Here it is: http://www.tonymacx86.com/network/101387-imessage-facetime.html
