Thanks for the quick reply,

It also means that hopefully Multibeast will be update in this year (just for example) for YO.?

Hello,

You talked about the Geforce 730... maybe you can Help me...

I changed my Graphic Card (Geforde 210 1Go) today.
I bought a Geforce GT730 2Go DDR3.... and it's not recognized by my system as well... see the attached files...
Is it normal to read 1024MO instead of my 2Go?

any idea to fix this problem? any drivers? ay multibeast option?
I used the "GraphicEnabler=Yes" line, to instal my system...

My geforce 210 was recognized perfectly....

Thanks...

I bought a GT 730 because I see this thread. "GT 6xx/7xx" can be natively supported without GraphicsEnabler=Yes.

But the truth is, not all 7xx graphics card can work perfectly with the native driver or even with the GraphicsEnabler=Yes.

For my EVGA GT 730 kepler 28nm graphics, it doesn't work full functionally.

I am not sure if the same situation will happen on the GT 630 v2 Kepler 28nm graphics card or not....

What I learnt from this is, there are so many different versions of NVIDIA 6xx/7xx graphics, some are even have almost the same chipset / architecture but, the native driver or even NVIDA web driver might not fully support them in OSX..:banghead:

Hi would this also work in lion 10.7.4? I have a gtx760 that works in Mavericks but cant seem to get it to work in lion. I still use lion since most of the music production drivers only work in lion for stuff like pro tools.

Would be great if someone has a 760 working in lion. For now im borrowing a gtx 550 but would like the 760 for mavericks and to be able to use in lion with out having to switch cards all the time.

For Lion - and this is for 10.7.5 this was the buyers guide that covered that period in time:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/375-building-customac-buyer-s-guide-august-2013.html#gfx_cards

I think that the earliest NVIDIA 7** card support would have been 10.8.5

You may find this handy in making decisions about the performance of different graphics cards. One of the problems with older versions of OSX is that Apple does not update the OS to suit more modern cards as the majority of their hardware is factory assembled without the ability to change graphics cards.

Thanks.

In the link they have the Gtx760 (reference card) but i have the gtx 760 ACX cooler that is super clocked , would it still work?

Also great info in the second part of your post, thank you. Would you know what i would need to do to get the 760 to work in lion? I removed my old DSDT and tried to patch it by replacing the DSDT and then running multibeast for the drivers i need. Do i have to touch anything in multibeast for the 760 or like this thread says just boot with GraphicsEnabler=no ?

Some bad news for you, sorry to have raised your hopes - that link was from here 10.7.5+:
http://www.tonymacx86.com/buying-ad...older-versions-os-x-using-older-chipsets.html

Its the WRONG link, I will ask Tony to get it changed. It should be this one:
http://tonymacx86.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/building-customac-buyers-guide-2012.html

NVIDIA cards for 10.7.5 were the 6** series. The NVIDIA 7** series was not supported before Mountain Lion 10.8.5, so it will not work with Lion at all as these cards did not exist at that time.

The NVIDIA GT/ GTX 6** is supported from 10.7.5, you will probably find that it is not supported in an earlier version of Lion.

No worries man, I appreciate you fast replies and knowledge.

I just see if i can either do another rig or just move on. Thanks again Adrian B

Does anyone know if either of these cards are okay:

MSI N730K-1GD5LP/OC GeForce GT 730 1GB 64-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card

http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N730K-1GD5LPOC.html#hero-overview

This card is based on the power-efficient NVIDIA Kepler architecture, and built around 384 stream processors with a 1GB 64-bit GDDR5 memory.

Or is a GT 640 a safer option?

MSI N640GT MD2GD3

Also Kepler according to this review: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=162433.0

You get Kepler’s goodness like PCIEx16 3.0, Surround Support for 2 monitors, better tessellation and of course DX11

I'm not a gamer, I just need a cheap-ish card.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would suggest that the GT640 or even a GT 740 with DDR3 RAM (often similar price) is the better long term solution. The GT 630 is only on a performance par with Intel HD4600 graphics. The GT640 tend to have a bigger and quieter fan - its not a performance card but does work well for most family type computing needs with a little bit of extra performance headroom that means it should not need to be replaced all that soon.
