i see now, with 10.8.5 my hd6450 is loaded as 6xxx with ATIRadeon framebuffer, and not the bulrushes, even if i use GE=Yes, of GE=No + manually injunct.. so.. it's not as right as what i whould have

here i see gt6xx cards with kepler arch should work out of the box, so, with original kext, and without any big patches..
that's what i would have, a good settage witch prevents any manually ways to find what's the new issue in the settage ;-P

anyway do you think the zotac gt 630 with kepler core will booted without any kext patching?

Nvidia are better supported in OS X and easier to get working, patches are not required, but you will need to get the latest Cuda from the Nvidia site. I don't think it has been updated for 10.8.5 as yet according to comments that I have seen.

this ATI upgrade drivers creates me some bad issues.. now i can't have the working framebuffers, even if i use GE=no + manually injunction of framebuffer..

i see in 10.8.5 is upgraded the nvidia drivers too.. are you sure it will not have the same issue as i have with the hd6450 card? i don't want to spend 70 euros of cards for nothing

NVIDIA Web drivers are incompatible with 10.8.5- System will reboot to OS X default drivers until NVIDIA updates.
CUDA not updated yet for 10.8.5.
If you use customized or edited graphics kexts, it will be necessary to make the edits again using the new drivers as a base.

so, QE/CI should work good

CUDA is not my first necessary, i'm on this sapphire, it doesen't have gpu acceleration, and the gpu acceleration of nvidia is better than ati due to it's own arch logic, nvidia has more gpgpu core

anyway, any nvidia gpus are working in osx?

Most people appear to not be having problems with Nvidia graphics in 10.8.5, however I have to add that I am not seeing any real problems with ATI Radeon either.

Those noting issues are in the minority. !0.8.5 became available on Friday and its now Tuesday, so its unlikely that we will see more people having problems. I cannot say what might happen with later OS X versions, things should run reasonably smoothly for most people.

and, sure, the rewrite of ati6000controller is not a good thing to do everytime at installation..

so.. i'll buy the zotac 630 zone edition, with kepler core, and ONLY 25W of power consuption, probably less than my hd6450

sure.. this 630 costs more than that.. 77 euros over 32... i hope i'll have a good card this time.. good for this pc.. i don't want to spend more money for this "HTPC"

does someone knows the arch difference from GK208 (new 630 kepler and new 640) with the "old" GK107 on 640m (and old 640)?

because, simply, if the arch is the same, probabily the new 630 will be compatible with moutain lion and other.. the base arch is always kepler

well, zotac gt630 kepler ed with 2gb of ram ddr3 ordered..

hope the "kepler" version will be recognized without errors by osx.. and.. well.. some info.. this is the new chip, GK208.. is the "lowest" chip of new 7xx series.. the third version of the kepler arch, so, it's quite new (and powerfull.. 384 cuda cores for 25W.. it's perfect to have a good cuda boost for low pc)

p.s. may i need to reinstall all? any helpfull commands? as like, may i have to boot with pcirootuid? pciroot? ge=no? npci=3000? or simply try with -F command on chameleon and look at what happens?

Edit, solution:

Install the nvidia drivers and the system will then recognise the card.

You do NOT need to be running the Nvidia drivers, leaving it on OSX drivers is fine and it will still display the right info. However as soon as you remove the nvidia program, it reverts back to the GK11x in info.

EDIT2: cuda works only with web driver or with mac original too? web drivers is better? has a better hardware acceleration?

Hi all !

I noticed an issue switching from Radeon 5970 to GTX 780.

I'm unable to remote desktop with native ARD server. VNC mode or ARD mode does not change anything.

I saw a post from TurbineSeaplane that has the same board (GTX 780) and have the same issue.

Is someone can report remote desktop working with this chip ?

Any idea to solve this ?
