Hi, running 2.4.8 - an unknown XHC controller is shown up in the USB section for deactivated USB ports - wonder if that means something or if artefact ?
Thanks

although it doesn't appear to be causing a problem, can you explain the reason for the errors rebuilding kextcache? Fantastic job with the app. Has saved hours of time and searching.

"invalid signatured" kexts are just 3rd part kexts installed. Perfectly normal.

The DisplayEDID error on the other hand is saying the info.plist inside the kext is invalid.

@headkaze Just to let you know that I am still around and monitoring your thread with great interest. At present I am unfortunately not able to participate in a meaningful way "here" because I am in the process of attempting to "wriggle" my Skylake build back to the stability that I have been used to for a long period of time, similar to what my Haswell build yields, the attachment "Haswell stability" refers, with the latest available versions of Hackintool as well as EFI agent installed and working very well indeed on that particular build. Thank you very much for the feedback routines that you included for the "Rebuild Kernel cache and Repair Permissions" routines, they work very well on my Haswell build.
On my unstable Skylake based machine I rolled back to an earlier CCC archived version on Mojave 10.14.4 ( a fairly recent backup ) that I know has been stable for a long way as well, and indeed that still seems to be the case after I also included the EFI folder as well as the /Library/Extensions content, of that version in what I am running now. This measure naturally excludes all the recent software additions, yours as well, and also EFI updates of the unstable version which I have now sidelined temporarily.
Once I have reached the end of the tunnel with my "investigation" I will revert back to testing all new software, one at a time, naturally yours as well. Once I have a better understanding of what caused the instability I will report back, in the meantime I will concentrate on achieving the stability I know is and has been attained before.
Greetings

Hi, not sure whats happened, but I have lost the ability to adjust the brightness (which was working fine before I upgraded to 10.14.4) on my Dell XPS laptop, Haswell, Intel HD Graphics 4400. I can see in the Displays section that my Laptop screen is not set to 'Internal' (see screen grab), where I'm sure it used to be, could this be the cause, if so, how would I set that to internal please?

Tnx. Found the DisplayEDID issue.

You need to inject a compatible mobile ig-platform-id.

Apologies, it turned out my issues were all config.plist related, something had altered it without my knowledge. I restored to a backed up version from a few weeks ago, and now all is well.

Hello @headkaze
First thanks so much for all you do. I recently discovered your hackingtool and its many helpful functions. i have a question regarding the display patching tools. I have two LG 5K ultrawide monitors (34WK95U-W). They each have an actual resolution of 5120x2160. However like many new high resolution monitors, if run at their full resolution without HiDPI on, everything is too small on screen for practical use.

For whatever reason, if i plug in my real macbook pro, i get all the expected resolution options and the scaled menu in system preferences ('larger text" vs "more space"). however this menu is not present on the hackintosh. And of the available resolutions it presents, only two work at the monitors full resolution. One is the actual 5120x2160 option which as i mentioned makes things too small. And the other is the 2560x1080 option which for some reason works correctly as a HiDPI 5120x2160 "looks like" 2560x1080. While this looks good, in this mode everything is a bit too large on screen for my taste.

The real sweet spot for the monitor is a HiDPI scaled mode of 3440x1440. If i am not mistaken, in this mode the desktop would be rendered at 6880x2880, with all on screen elements scaled to "look like" 3440x1440, and the image would be downscaled to and displayed at the actual resolution of 5120x2160. This works on the real macbook, but on the hackintosh setting this resolution just sets the monitor to a non HiDPI 3440x1440 and of course this looks bad.

Is it possible to use hackingtool to add the proper scaled HiDPI 3440x1440? Thanks so much again!

PS- strangely, though i am sure in the past i have had HiDPI 3440x1440 on my macbook, it looks like at some point that option went away, and it now runs at 3360x1417 HiDPI instead. I would be perfectly happy with that resolution on the hackintosh as well.

PS2- i am currently running a Radeon VII in 10.14.5 - but i have also tried these monitors on every OS version since 10.13.6, and with a 1080TI, RX580 and Vega64. The issue is the same on the hackintosh through all those OS versions and GPU models.

Current system specs: Gigabyte Z390 Designare, 9900K,Radeon VII, 10.14.5, 64GB RAM, Displayport connected (DP 1.4 enabled)
