I have the BCM94322HM8L. Sometimes I have a few issues with it. If I leave the house putting the machine to sleep and take it to work once I wake it the wifi will not connect, I have to reboot.

Wonder if I should get a 9285?

No, you should get 9280, it's much better than 9285.

I figured I would not have any issues with the BCM94322HM8L considering it is a native card for OSX. I'll do some more digging, May just grab the 9280 and try it. Thanks!

BCM94322HM8L was great WiFi until 10.8.5, not super fast but very quick to initialize on boot and very stable. I since replaced it with 9280 as I had a couple spares. Ironically, 9280 was not as good as BCM94322HM8L on earlier 10.8. BTW, BCM94322HM8L is not recognized as Apple native Airport Extreme, but as 3rd party adapter.

Another thing, the brightness issue is still there just not so prominent as on 4x30 series and could be fixed with brisk power button keystroke that conveniently puts screen to sleep, when it wakes up - it is slightly brighter.

I too confirmed that there is a brightness issue. After multiple reboot I made sure of it and I had to use blink screen. "Screen brightness xxx%" is unnecessary for this laptop in my opinion.

I'm also waiting for my 9280 package (though rerouting it since USPS said my Dubai address is blocked!)

RahabMan, do you have any "Sound assertion in AppleHDAEngine" on this notebook and 10.9?

I get:
Code:
30/10/13 12:21:23,000 kernel[0]: Sound assertion in AppleHDAEngine at line 581

Just guessing I probably do (not at laptop right now), as I do have these on my desktop... Why?

I read here about it and about the solution that seems to work, now i guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to add it to dsdt patches or you think is pointless?

Edit:
Btw, I do not see it on my desktop.

I used to have them on 10.8 too, but in 10.9 they are gone.
You can try the kext i am using and see if they are still there.
