I have done step by step the process you have defined, but when I ran iweeprom I get junk and the error message:
"err! software is still using eeprom!".
Could you please tell me where should I look for fixing the error.

This guide is for Atheros 928x cards, not Intel.

If you rebranded as Intel it can be difficult to recover. I did it but had to make more changes to the iwleeprom code. I forget exactly what. Hopefully you are familiar with C programming. Otherwise purchase another card. They are inexpensive.
