AppleALC choices, use Audio ID: 1 or 2, select one:
Nvidia/Pascal: HDMI audio on HDMI port does not work, HDMI/DP audio works on some DP ports; try all. See HDMI Audio AppleHDA/Post #1/Problem Reporting; post to thread linked with requested files attached.

Thanks Toleda, but I'm already using latest AppleALC 1.1.1 from GitHub.

No. Section III ---> Part 1. vit9696/AppleALC

That's exactly what I did, and here are the kext files in /efi/clover/kexts/10.12 folder (see screenshot).

Change Audio ID 1 to 11

Devices–>Audio–> Change 1 To 11

I own a Asus z270 Prime-A with Realtek S1220A (1220). After so many hours testing different methods, I tried yours and it works! As noted elsewhere in the thread, I changed audio to 7 to make it work. It's not perfect : headphones are not recognized. But for now i'll settle with it.

Edit : changed audio ID to 2 instead and now headphones are recognized!

I have a msi z270 motherboard with alc1220 audio and it drives me crazy. I can hear that weird noise all the time. It starts when first sound is played after boot. It has something to do with mic, because it's quite different when my mic cable from headphones is plugged or not. It's even less annoying when mic cable is plugged in. It doesn't matter if I use front panel or rear. I also can't use my mic properly (tried on skype and slack and no one can hear me, but I can hear myself in headphones).
On Windows everything works fine.
Any idea how to fix it?

Recently I've updated from 12.5 to 12.6 and issue is the same.
