Rat Rod Hack G5 Xeon E3 1230v3

Hi everyone, finally I can share some info on my case mod referring to Rat Rod Hack G5.

I'll focus on the PSU mod and, cable management mod how I will mod the G5 cooler to reuse it on my Xeon. The back was modified just as simple mods before, my main inspiration at the beginning was this thread: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-made-simple-and-keeping-a-clean-look.222773/

First up my PSU mod with standoffs made of washers and old PSU case standffs that I broke out with a Phillips screwdriver. I glued them together with CX 80 Autoweld Expoxy glue, used even in engine blocks, no flammability here.

The cables were lead through the original holes and the ATXPSU information sticker landed on the inner wall of the cover. Serves as its purpose as well as an additional shield against induction current buildup from electrical components.

I added a Molex to 3 Pin adapter to power the second fan. At first it went like a blowdryer, so I decided to swap the Molex pins so the fan only gets 5 V. The PSU runs quiet and cool anyway, as I give him 50% of his load or less.

Now for some cable management. The PSU has neat black ribbon-like and flexible cables, which give them that Mac Pro-ish look.I cut the original G5 cable holder with a box cutter and placed it in crucial spaces for a neat cable arrangement.
