At first I didn't plan on reusing the stock G5 cooler, utility thought I'll give it a try, since I sold the old CPUs without the coolers.

Sad update: I had to ditch the idea with the stock cooler, as th CPU got 10 deg. Celsius hotter than with my aftermarket cooler. It may have been a bad mount, although I retreid the proper screw positions, or I had insufficient thermal compound left. I'd be thankful for some thoughts from morre experienced modders in this respect.

Second attempt with a multitool, a drill and tapping holes and the cooler is sitting in place. Tamps= 40 at idle and 76 at full laoad, not bad for a G% cooler dealing with a Haswell CPU.

EDIT: I had some issues with a bad mount in the meantime, but now it's solved and I get down to 33 degrees at idle and 68-69 when running Cinebench, so at full load in AIDA64 I' get probably 70 -74.
