Hi all.
I have the same problem.
h87m-d3h - i5 4750 - 8gb corsair - gtx 750ti
i installed Yosemite and everything was perfect, but in the last days i have system freeze after booting.
when i reboot the system two or three Times everything works smooth, but when i turn the system off and on again, after one minute freezes again.

how can i read the system log?
Any suggestion?

Thank you in advance

Right now I'm running 3 hours of heavy workload without freeze. The thing I did was to disable ehci hand-off and loaded imac 14.2 definition. will let you know how it goes...

This is the screen of the log.
hope can be useful

I think I found the solution to my random freezes!

I replaced my ram again, now with G.Skill TridentX 2 x 8 GB F3-2400C10D-16GTX
It's on the memory support list for my board.
But: my previous set was also on the list: Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10

It seems the G.Skill set is better suited to work with Haswell, maybe because it's faster? (2400MHz instead of 1600)
I'm using XMP profile 1

With the previous ram, I tried all sorts of solutions, everything I could find on this forum.
(please read my other posts in this thread)

So, just to summarize all my current settings:
  • latest BIOS
  • BIOS: XMP profile 1
  • BIOS: Gen3
  • BIOS: on board audio - enabled
  • BIOS: on board graphics - enabled
  • BIOS: vt-D - disabled (so dart=0 is not selected in config.plist)
  • BIOS: Intel Virt. Tech. - disabled
  • BIOS: Windows8 - CSM disabled (to make sure CSM is really disabled)
  • BIOS: xHCI mode - Auto
  • BIOS: XHCI Hand-off - enabled
  • BIOS: EHCI Hand-off - enabled
  • BIOS: Wake on LAN - disabled
  • Yosemite 10.10.1
  • Clover 3128 - UEFI only, with only 1 driver selected: OsxAptioFixDrv-64
  • without DSDT, without SSDT
  • kexts: FakeSMC with plugins, AppleIntelE1000e 2.4.14
  • HW Sensors
  • onboard audio working by following Toleda's guide - 3. cloverALC/Clover patched
  • My config.plist for Clover is attached to this post
  • I have now 2 working GTX760 cards in my system
  • also a BlackmagicDesign Intensity Pro PCI-card

I hope others will recover from these random freezes to!

for me it's very weird
the system can work without a problem for a week
but then for a couple of days straight when I turn it on it freezes 1 or 2 minutes after entering the system
it's so random that I dont know what to do

What's your ram sku#?
Is your ram on Gigabyte's QVL for your board (see attached)?

Crucial Ballistix Elite 4x 8 GB modules

I did one last thing as I read this somewhere: lower te base clock from 100.00 mhz to 99.90 mhz and so far I haven't got any freezes

Crucial Ballistix Elite 4x 8 GB modules

Yeah, but what's the exact part# of this set??

because I see that only the PC3-14900 version (1866MHz) of this set is mentioned in the QVL for the Z97X-UD3H,
and it's not at all mentioned in the Buyer's Guide.
