Hello,

Recently I build my own Hackintosh using the following:
Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H motherboard
Intel Core i5-4690 LGA 1150 Haswell CPU @3,7Ghz (according to my 'Hac', no overlocking done though)
Corsair H55 Hydro CPU cooler
Gigabyte NVidia Geforce GTX 760 /rev2.0 2048mb Videocard
Samsung 250 Gb Evo 850 SSD
Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1866 CL9 8Gb memory kit
Coolermaster GX 550W PSU
Running OSX Mavericks 10.10.1
Windows 8.1 in dual boot

Build went smooth, dual boot installation went as a breeze and all runs and purrs like a little kitten...
The one mind-aching problem I have is that OSX freezes every now and then... No particular reason for doing so as far as I can tell. I't s driving me NUTS! :banghead:

I tried several tips 'n tricks in this forum but no luck so far..
What I did: I loaded the optimized default for my bios, I set my memory settings to 'optimal for best stability', Unchecked the VT-d option and all the other hints by Tony in the installation guide. After installation I installed the nessecary KEXT's for my audio en network and some other 'tweaks' of which I don't know the use because I'm a Hackintosh newby...

Can someone please help me out here? I don't know what I did wrong or what to try to get rid of these nagging freezes of OSX because the machine works just fine on W8.1...

Any comment or hints are more than welcome!
THANKS!!!

Hi ! I have the same build as you. The 3.7Ghz processor speed starts to makes me crazy because it's not like it should behave but I find no clue about that.

I have sleep problems, but no freeze (for the moment, fingers crossed, because I had no sleep problems before and they just "appeared" :)).

The only thing I can see right know are your memory settings. Set for profil1 or profil2 in BIOS (the one that will give you correct memory speed for your particuliar RAM). I Haven't touched "optimal for best stability" (can't even remember seing it).

And which definition are you using ? Seems that iMac 14.1 was the best one for me. And what are your multibeast settings ? You can read about my settings here http://www.tonymacx86.com/user-buil...x-ud5h-16gb-ram-1600mhz-radeon-hd-5870-a.html

Else, the problem could be the CPU speed, I'm trying to investigate, the first of us that find a clue tell the other ;).

If you're curious, my sleep problem is described here : http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/155832-had-sleep-lost.html

I ask about our CPU speed problem here http://www.tonymacx86.com/mavericks...tion-issues-i5-4690k-ga-z97x-gtx-780-a-2.html and here http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-h...byte-z97-h97-motherboards-gallery-info-8.html

cheers

[edit] put your system spec in your profile before an admin ask for it ;)

I think I nailed my freezing problem!
I used multibeast again and set it for iMac 14.1 as you suggested and I didn't have any freezing ever since!
I don't have a solution for your problems since I'm a total newby on this, sorry for that! :|
The memory setting are somewhat hidden, but somewhere there is a dropdown menu for memory settings and there are a few options, one for best stability and one for best performance. I set it for best stability. I read it somewhere on this forum...
