Been scouting across this forum, cant seem to find anything regarding this.

I'm from the UK, and it turns out getting hold of the correct HP Probook 4530s model for a fully working hackintosh is quite difficult, as they all seem to be in the USA, and most companies dont want to ship overseas.

My question regards the compatbility of the Ralink Wireless card, does it work as well on Snow Leopard as the Atheros wifi card?

going to the website of your chosen country hp top

593127-001 In stock
B/G/N WLAN card - Half MiniCard (HMC) combo Malbec
RoHS: Original
15.91 GBP

So buy the laptop from a UK distributor and replace the wireless card with this one from HP?

I'm assuming its like most laptops, in that case that the wireless card is easily accessible without having to take the WHOLE thing apart, just take a panel off on the bottom?

Edit: Also, is this card supported with or without extra kexts?

everything is working perfectly in 10.6.8

test purchasing to check the hard drive is not a new 4K on some of the problems with this type of boot disk

everything works with this card you must edit a kext for 10.6.8 and 10.7.x but it is included in the pack blueking

The bluetooth also works on both systems

Only the original HP wireless card works anyway so no choice

Ahh thank you

Replacing the wireless card is an easy job? (i.e. any idiot can do it? :))
