There are lots of performance monitoring programs. But at a minimum, observe Activity Monitor while using Resolve, to see if the CPU usage gets to 100%, or close to it.

Also, open up "GPU History" in Activity Monitor (from the Window menu). If that monitor is working you will see a graph there. If not, it will just be a black window.

Compare CPU usage % and GPU usage % while doing things in Resolve. If neither one gets close to 100%, it could even be your SSD (especially if you work with high-bitrate RAW files or similar).

Have you noticed the difference mostly with playback, or with exporting?
